Week 8 Results

A splendid Halloween showing last week.  So glad everyone jumped early into the Holiday.  And, the fact that everyone was dressed rather silly did not stop folks from playing some really hard, good ultimate!
The RESULTS:

The Maroon Bonobos, on this night dressed rather hick-ly, faced off against the Navy Blue Magic.  The game started and ended tight, as multiple shots went up to Magic's favorite receiver, but he was just less than completely open this evening.  Bonobos took half 7-5, but Magic came out on three point streak to make it 8-7 and eventually closed it out in the cap, 12-10 N. Blue.
and Gold Rush went against the Red-Eye Rockets.  Both teams featured some potent offenses, and Gold looked ready to take half before pulling out the zone to slow down Red's cutters.  Red took half 8-7, and when the hard cap went off, Gold had two chances to tie it up.  Alack, they did not; Final: 15-13, Red.

Green and Tonic amassed on the sidelines early, looking extremely intimidating in their battlegear (see last post).  They faced Tighty-Whiteys, who were dressed as their favorite Nickolodeon alter-ego.  Cartoons defeat Cardboard, evidently, though Green was not visibly disheartened.  12-6, Whiteys.
and The Red-Eye Rockets sparred Navy Blue Magic, the night's anticipated double-header.  A very competitive game, Red took half and held the lead until the soft cap went on at 12-11, game to 14.  Navy Blue stepped up once more to snatch the W, however, 14-12 Navy Blue.

Team P.P.P.P... met the arcade heroes of Graphite.  Although Purple felt they were in control, they were clearly having trouble against the zone, and found themselves at Universe point, 14-14.  Strazzler put destiny in Mr. Stagg's hands and launched the game winner deep over a bidding Manget/Raiden.  15-14 Purple.
and The Scruffy Pink Unicorns pranced with the Baby-Blue Babies.  Another close game, but Pink was clearly elevated by the appearance of their anthropomorphic deity at half-time (see video below), replete with 28 legs and wings.  They dispatched the infants, 12-10 Pink.

Check out all the great pictures!  Huge thanks to Forrest Samuels, Cathy Jones, and whomever grabbed my camera and took other pictures.  (Forrest has been contributing heavily to an AUC Flickr group that anyone can add to.)  And be sure to check out the team photos from Sunday's post.

See you tomorrow night!
